A message from our principal

Dear families,
As we reach the end of another vibrant and productive term at Two Wells Primary School, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on our achievements and express my gratitude to our wonderful school community.
This term has been filled with exciting learning experiences and opportunities for our students to grow both academically and personally. Our dedicated teachers have worked tirelessly to deliver engaging lessons, and it has been a joy to see the enthusiasm and curiosity in our students' eyes.
I’d like to take this opportunity to farewell some of our staff and welcome our new teachers to Two Wells Primary, Jana Markovic and Aliya Egan have taken up other teaching opportunities, Sophie Roberts is returning to her home state. We welcome Misha Pachani as our new year 2 teacher in room 19, and Claire Adams as our new year 1 teacher in room 7. We would also like to warmly thank Amy Burt and Michelle Graham, two of our wonderful SSO staff who have also chosen to explore other opportunities, we wish you all the very best in your new endeavours.
One of the highlights of this term was our annual Sports Day. It was fantastic to see so many students participating with such energy and sportsmanship. A big thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped make the day a success, and to the parents who came to support and cheer on our students. This year, the Sports Day champions were Korunye, who triumphed with 261 points. Congratulations to Redbanks for winning the Spirit Cup for showing all our school values of Respect, Compassion, Courage, and a Growth Mindset.
Our students also enthusiastically participated in Jump Rope for Heart and Down Syndrome Day, raising funds for worthy causes. We enjoyed a whole school incursion, delivered by Bussafe which allowed students to learn and enhance their skills regarding transportation and safety.
As we look forward to the next term, I am excited about the upcoming projects and initiatives that will continue to enhance our students' learning experiences. We are committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment where every child can thrive.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our teachers, staff and parents for their unwavering support and dedication. Together, we create a nurturing community that fosters the growth and development of our students.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term.
Kind regards,
Kirsty Brumby

Harmony Day- We all have a role to play!
Two Wells Primary students and staff celebrated Harmony Day on Friday the 21st of March and what an amazing day of celebration it was! Students and staff were encouraged to wear orange or a traditional outfit from their cultures and participated in a range of multi-cultural activities.
Throughout this week each student decorated a hand for our wonderful display at the front of the school to show belonging and that we all have a role to play in society. Our wonderful whole school creation will be displayed in the library for all to enjoy.
Miss Kaur performed an amazing Punjabi dance routine in the gym and was kind enough to teach everyone the dance moves!
Onyx and Ms Charmaine went around to classes to perform and teach a traditional Congolese drumming session. Miss Tegan went around to several classes to read a harmony day story.
At lunchtime the whole school shared a picnic on the oval together, with fruit platters to promote healthy eating and trying new foods.
To end the day, each class were given cookie packs to decorate their own Harmony Day cookies!
A great day was had by all and a big thank you to Ms Charmaine for organising and running the day!

Jump rope for heart
A huge thank you to all of our students, families, and staff for supporting our Jump Rope for Heart program this term!
We recently wrapped up our Jump Off Day, and what an incredible day it was! The energy, enthusiasm, and skipping skills on display were fantastic. It was wonderful to see students encouraging each other, trying new tricks, and having fun while being active.
Together, we raised an amazing $2244 to support the Heart Foundation and their important work in fighting heart disease and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Not only did our students improve their skipping skills, but they also learned about the importance of keeping their hearts healthy through regular exercise, staying active and making positive health choices.
Thank you again for your support.
Keep on skipping!

National family reading month
NATIONAL FAMILY READING MONTH is an initiative that represents the heart of our business— literacy being the key to learning and achievement. We believe that all children, with the help of their families and reading role models, can benefit from a lifelong love of reading.
This year marks the 29th Scholastic’s National Family Reading Month (NFRM), which encourages families to read together on a regular basis to create strong reading habits. Most of us know how important reading together is and its long-term value to our children’s success in school and in life. However, we also know it is not always that easy to put into practice with our busy schedules and increasing competition with screen time.
That is why we ask you to take the 31-Day Challenge— to inspire you to make reading together for at least 10 minutes every day a focus, to create positive, long-lasting reading habits and lifelong readers!
NFRM will launch on, THURSDAY 1ST OF MAY 2025, AT 11AM AEST AND 1PM NZST where it will be livestreamed all across Australia and New Zealand via Facebook and YouTube. Mr Luke will read his book Guess What We Are Doing Today? together with illustrator Chris Kennett and kick off the 31-Day Challenge, as we
READ EVERY DAY! READ MORE IN MAY!
You are invited to go to our website to download more assets and join the 31-Day Reading Challenge with us. Visit scholastic.com.au/nfrm for downloads, reading tips and exclusive content from Mr Luke.
Let’s encourage the 31-Day Reading Challenge and celebrate National Family Reading Month together
